Terence was a nurse graduate, but what he truly aspired to be was a professional dancer. He hence began his career as a dance instructor in early 2009, and since then, his passion for dance has never stopped growing. Terence started dancing as a bboy, and ventured on to train in many different styles such as jazz, house, popping, locking and hiphop. Currently a member of the Singapore House Unit, Terence specializes in the genre of House dancing, alongside hiphop as well as vocal percussion (a.k.a. beatboxing).
In January 2013, Terence took a chance and ventured to Korea to join a renowned dance competition ‘Juste Debout Korea’, an international dance competition that welcomes dancers from all around the world to compete on stage to a live crowd of thousands. Terence joined the competition, beating out opponents to reach the Top 4 – a truly astounding result and a first for Singapore.
Students always welcome Terence because of his bubbly character. He is a committed and passionate instructor, who has given much of his time to his students, helping them to choreograph pieces for various dance competitions and performances in schools. Terence always teaches his students using his belief that everybody can dance; How far you go depends simply on how much effort you are wiling to put in. Moving forward, he hopes to inspire more young dancers, and also spread the love for House Dance.
